Mason’s first day of kindergarten was great! He has grown so much in the past few months, we hardly recognize this self confident, proud boy! Such a wonder to see him maturing and enjoying all that is around him. He was very excited for his first day at school. We had a brief orientation the day before so he could check out the classroom & meet his teacher, Mrs. Case. He had a few familiar faces in his class which always helps too. He was so interested in everything in his room & was thrilled to have his own locker this year (they shared last year at pre-school).
He woke up in the morning saying he felt a little funny. I mentioned that he may be nervous and excited for the new adventure, it was probably butterflies in his stomach. He proceeded to ask when & how the butterflies would be flying out of his stomach…;)

As shown, Fiona had a much harder time saying goodbye to her partner in everything….she wasn’t sure if she wanted to let her big brother go, especially all day! Big adjustment for her too…
I had put a photo of the whole family in Mason’s lunchbox as a little surprise in case he was needing some comfort. He was so thrilled by the surprise & asked me if I did that. I told him I just wanted him to know that even if he was at school we were all thinking of him & wishing him well. Once again, our sweet boy had the right answer…”well I was thinking about all of you & how much I love you too”. Well played my boy, well played;)
