Carni-Time

Nothing like a trip to the overpriced & unsanitary carnival in town! Although we had sticker shock with the cost of tickets, both kids had fun on the rides & Mason actually looked like he was having fun! As in past years he usually stared ahead with stone face during
“fun” kid activities then would just talk about how fun it was later….great to see a smile on his face….until the roller coaster, guess the 3rd time around was too much excitement for one day, though Fiona waved & smiled the whole time & hopped off like it was nothing….different strokes for different folks:)

Slip, Slide & Bump

How these things weren't banned with all of the child safety regulations is beyond me....but you can see why kids love them! FYI - Fiona was fine;)

Look What We Found

While detangling the vines from this tree outside our porch I noticed that one side was a bit saggy….

When we investigated further…..look what we found

Needless to say the kids couldn’t get enough of this newfound treasure. I took this picture for them with camera over my head since after lifting Fiona up to see the eggs a few times I realized that I got my fill of weight lifting for the day…..Mason forget about it, we needed to recruit Daddy for that task & even he had to prep himself;)

We  hope that all of our excitement didn’t disturb the new family….hopefully baby birds will be singing in the trees soon.

Surprise Guests

Since we live so close to the Capron Park Zoo and have a membership every year the kids get a chance to visit the animals there quite often. Both kids know the whole place very well so what a great surprise when we arrived to see some new zoo animals…

Welcome to 3 new baby emus! Yes, it is the little things that thrill us these days;)

It was such a nice day that we enjoyed a snack outside & got to run around the park a bit too…..loving this sunny weather!

Is that a distraction technique?

Gone North & Back

Another trip to Maine was a whole lotta fun for everyone....thought I would provide my rendition via photos of the visit though it's been cataloged on both the other family's blogs.
Kids had plenty of play time....

Eating this meal was so successful by all who wanted to earn dessert until we realized that all of the kids handed off their veggies to Timmy, the lone veggie lover. He happily ate his fill & hooked up his cousins:)
Although the weather outlook was not very warm we decided to enjoy the potential for a peek of sunshine & headed the entire crew out to camp for the day....starting out very windy & cold, the weather didn't deter the kids from digging in the sand & enjoying s'mores by the fire...

Practicing for setting the canoe out for a spin....

A little lunch....and some afternoon lounging by the water.....
Fiona & Bodie have an interesting relationship....semi-love/hate but certainly triggered by the fact that they both have a passion for creating "trouble"....in such a cute way....guess that is what 2 year olds with a mission in mind specialize in...

Snack time for a photo op.....the sun was slowly warming us up as the afternoon went on....

Then on to full out running for some good old fashioned fun....
Caught some peeping Fiona & Tim checking out in on-goings inside....
Then it was determined that it was too hot with all of the running to keep shirts on...guess they needed to air out the pits too, lots of monkey see monkey do when we get this gang of sillies together

And a little rest and relaxation before packing up until our next visit....since we never have a dull moment with 6 kids around what better time to hop them up with some sugar & set them loose as we celebrated Soren's 4th birthday...

Who brought the cool guys?

Waving to the farmer

Fiona practicing some big sister skills

And the BUGS for the party.....

Yummy....dirt cake

Some more bug party favors

Mason took on the Peterson clan in full wrestlemania...thanks Amanda P. & Stan

Some bright through all of the rain...

Mason ate EVERY bite of dinner in order to get a chance to dig into his flower pot of dirt cake & bugs

Do you think they are used to the cameras....such restraint shown knowing that there is a photo op to be had

 YUMMY all around!

Mission complete!

My camera battery was out for our final day of the visit but we had a great time as usual & can't wait to come up and visit again soon!!
