Mason has been asking to head into Boston for a while now. He had the fun of going on a Boston Duck tour with Nana & the Chabots last year & has been excited to head back ever since. We had a great weather day on a weekend in May and figured that we’d give it a shot. The rest of the family had never had the duck tour experience so off we went…
Picture perfect day. We parked at John’s office and hit the bricks. First stop the T, then on to Back Bay…
John Hancock building…though we couldn’t go in it is an impressive sight. And to think the twin towers in NY were almost twice the height…wow….
Boston Marathon Finish line….maybe a Mainely runner will see glory there someday;)
We kept on moving & headed to the Prudential….had to check out the observatory on such a clear day…plus we realized that we weren’t the only “duck” fans & tickets were sold out for the day….planning ahead would have worked but we were still enjoying the sights….
Memories of my summer in Boston by Kenmore Square…
Impressive from afar….
That was cool…but we kept trekking….took the gang down Newbury Street. People watching was keeping our kiddos very busy….we stopped by to see the swan boats & have a little snack…
Caught a little history on the way to Faneuil Hall…
The kids were mesmerized by the “living statues” & realized that they would move if you gave them money;)…always a trick if you pay. They had a chance to see a few other performances and took it all in….
Onward through Haymarket (where Mason asked that we not pick up dinner there, think he was a bit overwhelmed with the smells and “characters”) and down to the new green space of the Big Dig for some lunch/dinner from the North End…
The kids walked a very LONG way, yet behaved so well all day. We were thrilled to have such a peaceful & fun day as a family. Couldn’t ask for more.
