It’s a Funny Thing

I try very hard not to compare the kids but it is amazing to see how different they each are….from personality, to quirks, to personal style & just how they view the world. Each are unique in how it all comes together & I love to watch & learn about them every day. They are funny, smart, witty, imaginative, and full of energy. So different, yet so similar. Amazing experience as a parent….and of course neither of us want to take credit for their stubbornness, but we love their individuality and all 3 are full of personality.

An example that struck me recently that I found amusing occurred while we were going through a pre-K workbook. One of the worksheets was a color by letter activity…Fiona went along and matched her crayons with each of the letters and colored in all of the appropriate sections of her picture. Mason also picked his coordinating crayons and colored each of the letters….that is what the directions stated, right? I couldn’t convince him to fill in the spaces since he followed the directions as stated…once again he has proven that there is very little grey in Mason’s world…just black and white. It is what it is. LOVE how they each interpret the world around them.

Of course, where Mason lacks confidence, Fiona makes up for it…getting a little full of herself lately stating to all around her how well she does coloring and that Mason doesn’t color well. Reminding her that it is different, not better but she doesn’t seem to let that stick. Our sweet pea, at least we have a girl with some self esteem, right?…
