(please note, this post is longer than usual so after the photo of Uncle Kevin & Bodie you'll have to select "read more" to see the rest of the post....don't want the Sidell family fun to get short-changed & needed to cap the Christmas posts & move on!)
Unfortuately the day before we were to head to Maine Mason was taken over by a nasty bug. There was no way we could travel with him the way he felt & that boy is pale enough but actually got even more pale. Not good. Although he was very disappointed to miss the trip to see his cousins & family. Mason was okay with Fiona & I heading up without him & dad. Thought it would be a tougher time but the way he felt & the fact that I mentioned I'd be bringing back some more presents allowed him to accept the situation.
So it was Fiona's first road trip without Mason & she behaved so well for the trip. She had full control of what movie was playing...she took advantage by asking to switch many times over. She was able to use Mason's car seat with the convenient cup holder & storage spaces. Think she really liked the mellow ride after all of the excitement.
Then we arrived for our whirlwind 24 hour visit in Maine. Talk about grabbing our goods & running but it was a special day nonetheless. Everyone even sat down waiting for one gift at a time and didn't get another one until everyone was finished.....an idea good in theory, but actually WORKED!
No family celebration in 2010 would be complete without some Twilight paraphernalia from my crazed sisters. (Though I have to admit the books were good & I am on team Jacob don't think I am near the frenzy they have gotten themselves into....though I did enjoy receiving my Jacob key chain, bookmark & body tatoos;))
And have I mentioned the Sidell stockings? Never know what you may expect...

And to cap off the day another photogenic smile from our cutie pie...granted the camera IS in her face all of the time but really now....
Christmas crackers were a hit with all of the kids & Papa....
The next morning we packed the van with all of our loot and stopped by the St.Pierre's to visit on our way outta town.
Fiona was pretty well behaved for the trip back to NH & we kept ourselves entertained with the camera for a few on the road shots. I think we both enjoyed having a "girls trip".
Though the visit was much more brief than we usually plan, it was a great time to celebrate with all of the kids & our family in Maine. Thanks for the fun!
And soon enough back to NH. I think Mason & John hardly noticed we were gone. Though Mason was eagerly awaiting our arrival as we brought in another sleighful of goodies......
For as sick as he felt, our boy was elated to have mom & Fiona back with all of his goodies. Very cute to see him so animated after looking so sad when we left him.
Fiona was very sweet to Mason too. She didn't argue once that all of the presents were for him & she even let him open the joint gifts for them. She busied herself with her new pencil case & a candy cane while he tore through the goodies.
This is the last of our Christmas posts!!! We had a great time & enjoyed celebrating the season with everyone!
