1st Day of Preschool
Kids had their first day of preschool at their new school. Both did a great job! Fiona was so excited for the big day she wore her new backpack all afternoon yesterday and as soon as she was dressed this morning. Both kids went straight into school with no hesitation. Fiona remembered where her locker and Mason’s locker were from orientation on Friday…she dropped her bag and barely said goodbye as she ran off for a fun day of school. Mason who has always had a harder time with transition and new settings did a great job too. He had no tears & only a little hesitation when his teacher greeted him….HUGE difference from previous years, he’s growing up!
They both were very excited when I picked them up telling me all about what they did and the cool playground that they both got to try out, though their rooms went out at different times. A success all around….and I even go to go grocery shopping during my 2.5 kid-free hours…so proud of my kiddos for doing such a super job!

Pretty as a Princess
No power for 4 days….we pulled out all of the stops with play-doh, arts & crafts, coloring, games, toys, puzzles & Fiona’s princess dress stash….though once again, not sure if Mason really channels Cinderella, we let him play anyway;)

Coming Soon….
I realized I haven’t posted much about our sweet baby to come soon….nor have we had much time to discuss names, get out baby stuff or rest! Lucky again, I have had a fairly uneventful pregnancy, a few more aches but nothing major….I blame it on getting old & chasing 2 kids around while keeping up with our crazy schedule of travel over the course of the pregnancy. Would say we have had a few “events” over the past few months to deal with.
Ultrasounds have all gone well, though our biggest surprise at the 32 week ultrasound was that this kiddo has hair already. It only took Fiona 18 months or so…. And very long thigh bones as with the other 2 kids’ ultrasounds…..we are getting excited to meet the newest addition to our family. The kids are somewhat prepared, as much as they understand of it all….they recently took a sibling class at the hospital and were able to visit the nursery and see a brand new baby through the window, check out the rooms & get a feel for where mom will be in a few weeks.
Mason of course wants a brother (his name suggestions are Max and Michael) and Fiona would prefer a sister though she runs with all of the boys just fine.
We are now in our 37th week….the week that Mason unexpectedly arrived during my pregnancy with him….so any day now (for the next few weeks we’ll be saying!) The kids start a new preschool soon & John breaks ground on a new project around the same time so we should be in for an exciting & busy month!
Since I documented my belly with Mason so well….and had a few from Fiona I asked Amy for a quick photo shoot when her and the kids came down to visit to prove to our #3 that we did document this important phase (at least a little)….here are a few of the pics that she took for our coming attraction…please disregard the ridiculousness of me, of course! Just a few questions
Recently Mason & I were looking at one of his books together….since it will be quite a while before we get cover to cover on this one…
I took a break to run to the store while John was home & left Mason to keep reading….as I was leaving he kept stopping me with questions on alot of the items in the book. To solve the problem I gave him some page-markers & let him know while I was gone to just mark his questions & we could go through them when I got back….
fair enough, right? Until I came home to “just a few questions” from our dear bookworm:)
We had many questions to go through but each page he marked he remembered exactly what he wanted to ask….think I am learning just as much about “AWESOME” stuff these days as he is!
